What's on your Workdesk? (Wednesday #93)

Hi All,
Sorry for the dodgy photo, it was really early this morning when I took this photo and still dark outside. I tried using the flash but it just flared on the book so I used this instead. I usually have this all up and posted by now but as I worked today, then had to drop Master 7 off at a birthday dinner, I am late.

THANK YOU to all who commented last week...I tried to get back to all of you but failed miserably! My excuse is this, I worked Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week! Nothing like easing back into teaching with a day here and there! Let me tell you that I was exhausted on Friday evening!

On my desk I have put my 'Recipe Book' (I am up to my 4th one!) where I write down all the ingredients used to make each card. I later print out a picture of the card to pop into the book but have just placed the card on the book today to show you what it usually looks like. Yes I am a little OCD... I have mentioned this previously! You can also see some cards that I have made in the last few days. Both birthday cards were made last night!

Link up your desk at Julia's blog the Stamping Ground! I am off to collect Master 7 from the birthday party.

Thanks for looking...have a great night!

Great that work is so good and exhausting...I believe that's part of the fulfilling!! Good for you! Your desk belies the fact that you're incredibly busy...it looks inspiring and orderly. The recipe book idea is amazing, so the opposite of how I do things!

Yes - three days in a row plus all your other jobs of cooking cleaning and organising your own children is definitely NOT easing back. But did you go for 'retail therapy' on the weekend? It is a sure way to cure exhaustion. Love popping by to see your desk - so glad that you were up in the dark to photograph it. (he he) Hugs Jenny B xox

Thanks for sharing. It would be impossible to get around to all the sites when you have children, work a lot and do all you do. Just do what you can. As Julia told me it is fun don't beat yourself up if you can't make all the sites. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #52

I love your recipe book: a wonderful art journey.

And don't feel guilty about not visiting everyone who commented on your blog. We all understand and feel the same. I won't be offended if you don't visit me. I promise!

Thanks for sharing.
cheers, rachel no. 70

Thanks for sharing - your books sound great - as others have said don't stress about getting round people I wouldn't be able to get round everyone

Hi Susan, I failed miserably too - when there is so much else to do something has to go! As others before me have said it's nothing to worry about. The cards on your desk are great and your recipe book is fantastic - you're so organised :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #74

I've never thought of a recipe book for my cards but what a great idea!! Thanks....I think I will start one. I'm impressed that despite everything you have going on you still found time for WOYWW. Good for you! Thanks for sharing your great ideas.

That card is lovely and the recipe book too! What an ambitious idea. I'm lucky if I remember to take a picture of the card before I mail it on it's way. -Mari K. (133)

Lovely card I am full of sympathy it gets hard fitting everything in when you are back at work. Good to see you are setting some creative time for you.

Lovely idea with the recipe book. Don't have the guilts about whether you visit or not - we all do what we can, and understand when it's just not feasible!

Like your card. It is hard trying to get around but I am determined to get around as many as I can this week! It is so nice to see what others do. Work does get in the way though!

Love the cards on your desk, I agree it does get difficult to visit everyone, I started off trying to get round them all in a couple of days at most, after work. Now I get round as many as I can over the rest of the week/weekend- so do a lot of others, I have seen.We all understand that when there are 150+ posts, and we all work for a living, its just not always possible to get round everyone. By the way, my post should have read Hugs, Shaz. Not HUS, Shaz. Just after I clicked to post, I saw the typo, lol.

I always keep a picture of the cards I make, but what a good idea to keep a record of how to achieve the same result again, or ideas to improve. Thank you for your inspiration. Like many others, I find it almost impossible to get round everyone these days in a week. I just start at a different place on the list every week and do as many as possible. I will always try to get back to anyone who visits me. Off now to find a notebook for my "Recipe Book".

I think only teachers will understand what you mean when you say you were exhausted! Nothing quite as tiring as teaching, is there?
Love the idea of a recipe book, but it sounds like a lot of work!

I've been thinking of doing something like your your recipe book for a while now, but have not tackled it yet. You have inspired me now... if you can do it with all you do I sure should be able to. Thanks for sharing...
I don't seam to be able to get to everyone either....
